As part of Small Marvel’s philosophy to nurture the whole child, we provide nutritious, natural snacks and meals that contain no artificial flavors colors or preservatives. We buy organic and local produce whenever possible and never serve any food with high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils. Our meals and snacks are prepared in a licensed kitchen that has received 2 'excellent' ratings, and all staff are required to have their food handler certification through the Pima County Health Department. We also collaborate with a local nutritionist to design our menu and provide nutrition and culinary activities to students. Our relationship with Heirloom Farmer’s Market and Tucson Village Farm allows us to garden with students and harvest fresh, seasonal ingredients from our own garden. We believe the more growing children are exposed to a wide variety of delicious meals, the more likely they are to develop a healthy relationship with food that can last a lifetime.
